Arlington, VA – On Monday, November 11th, Responsible Distribution Canada (RDC) and Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support the continued collaboration and commitment to their respective Responsible Distribution programs.

The continued collaboration of RDC and U.S counterpart, ACD, signifies a long-standing commitment to meet the guiding principles of Responsible Distribution as they relate to all aspects of the distribution of chemicals, chemical products and chemical services.

“Working in tandem with ACD has proven instrumental in the continued maintenance and improvement of the Responsible Distribution program,” said Catherine Wieckowska, President of RDC. “We are excited to formally sign the MOU today to signify the importance of our continued collaboration and support of our respective associations. Collaboration between our two countries is paramount to continue to achieve industry excellence and keep safety at the forefront within the chemical supply chain”.

Since its inception in 1986, Responsible Distribution Canada has continued to champion health, safety and sustainability through Responsible Distribution®. The program is driven by a Code of Practice that has been written and approved by the membership of RDC. It is based on eight guiding principles, that govern member company actions related to all aspects of the distribution of chemicals, chemical products, and chemical services.

Since 1991, ACD Responsible Distribution™ has been a trusted, comprehensive set of environmental, health, safety, security, and sustainability standards within the chemical distribution industry. This comprehensive framework demands continuous improvement in every phase of chemical storage, handling, transportation, and disposal.
